Arrest Warrant for Horse Theft

An 1869 warrant, signed by Governor William E. Stevenson, for the arrest of Samuel Wormley. The document states that Wormley was wanted in Maryland for stealing a horse, and orders the Sheriff of Berkeley County to deliver Wormley to a Maryland law officer.

Scope and Contents Account ledger of a general merchandise store in the eastern panhandle of Virginia, (later West Virginia) documenting transactions of goods purchased, services rendered as payment on accounts and balances owed. The money amounts are recorded in English currency denominations. The store was probably owned and operated by the William Brown family.
